To Wake The King

Nickie Harte Kelly A Francis Lickerish project, this one preceded “Far and Forgot,” and features the fine vocalist who appears there. This one also combines orchestral and electric elements and visits some Arthurian/Medieval/Renaissance landscapes with references to Merlin, Nimue and Tom O’Bedlam. The electric embellishments are particularly fine and will appeal to fans of symphonic prog Favorite track: Nimue.

Sven B. Schreiber (sbs) This is the first album of "The Enid" co-founder Francis Lickerish after leaving the band and the music business altogether for a long time. His name appears in the author credits of several compositions on the first four Enid albums, some of which are among the best ones the band ever recorded. This exquisite symphonic rock album gives an idea of how widespread his influence on the sound of the early incarnation of "The Enid" probably has been. Don't miss the follow-up album "Far and Forgot" as well, which is exactly in the same vein. Favorite track: Ecchoing Green.

MarcM66 It took me too long to discover that Francis Lickerish who co-signed so many magnificent tracks on the early albums by The Enid (of which the 3 first ones stay my favourites from the band to this day) had recorded some new music. I wish "To Wake the King" would exist on CD, would have liked a real booklet but well, those days are hard for such artists, I know. :( The album is just beautiful. It's essential to lovers of symphonic and romantic, grandiose music with Renaissance influences.
